Problems found in Tampines playgrounds :
- The variety is not wide enough for kids who are less-abled.
- There is a lot of vandalising, playground is also damaged here and there and misuse of playground like occupying the playground for long hours to do their own stuff and not letting others to have the chance to play.
- There is also unnesessary noise during the peak hours or the hours after school.
1. How can we improve on the playground?
- Firstly, we should include more variety like adding more colours, some equipment that might help the physical conditions of the less-abled like adding a stationary bicycle.
- Writing of vulgarities and vandalising should be kept to those who wrote them and not pollute the environment as the playground is visited by many people each day. Mostly who play the playground would be at a tender young age so the vulgarities might influence them and parents would be unhappy if their children came home and started saying vulgarities. People should also not do their own stuff and occupy the playground for long hours as they should consider other people who also wants to play in the playground.
- Reduce the level of noise made as it will affect the people who live around in that area.
2. In what ways can you make the playground more appealing to the groups of less-abled people?
- Have a wide variety of facilities like things that can stimulate their minds and help them in their physical conditions for e.g. having a stationary bicycle, flashcards which have words and colour, short word puzzles and design the facilities in many shapes and sizes.
- Make the playground safer by building it indoors as exposed playgrounds tend to be more dangerous for the less-abled.

-Problems we are seeing in playground around
Tampines.
-playground is not well maintained, the facilities are damaged, a lot of vandalising and unnecessary disturbances.
1)How can we improve on the playground?
- We should play our part and keep the facilities clean and in good conditions.
- Reducing the amount of vandalising in the playground is also very important as I'm sure no parents would want to see their children looking at vulgarities and things they should not see.
- Students from nearby schools should not crowd in the playground as they are disturbing the people there, I really think that students should use the playground during appropriate time.
2)In what way can you make the playground more appealing to other groups of people?
- Have different types of facilities for different type of people like a stone path with handle bars to allow blood circulation in the foot for people who have trouble walking.

ECO-FRIENDLY FEATURES ABOUT MY GROUP'S 3D-MODEL:All the materials were linked with the 3 rs', which are reuse, reduce and recycle. All the materials we use are bio-degradable. The playground was mainly built with ice cream sticks. Leisure room and the ornaments were built with ice cream sticks and cardboard.
REMARKS:
Materials used are ice cream stick, string, tooth picks, cardboard, wrapping paper and toilet rolls. Most of the designs were built by ice cream sticks, so ice cream sticks is our most important materials. Next is the cardboard, we chose a hard and reliable material. We used colourful wrapping paper to make the model look attractive.
Playground designs that are linked to the novel:
There are many designs which are linked to the book. There is the swing, monkey bar, projector gaming room and the leisure room.
EXPLANATION OF HOW THE DESIGNS A RE LINKED TO THE NOVEL:
The swing, is like the rope in the novel, which Jesse and Leslie has to swing across to Teribithia. The children can enjoy the breeze and have fun. The monkey bar acts as an obstacle for the children, in the novel, Jesse and Leslie faced many challenges. The children will be determine and encouraged to climb to the end. Projector gaming room, is like imaginary world, as in the novel, Jesse and Leslie often imagine that they are the king and queen of Teribithia. When here is this gaming room, the children can be themselves and stimulate more of their mind. The leisure room is a quiet place where the children can relax themselves, in the novel, Jesse and Leslie built a treehouse for themselves and do relax and not disturb by the outside world.
PLAYGROUND DESIGNS THAT MEETS THE SPECIAL NEEDS OF THE CHILDREN:
We surrounded the playground with plastic balls. There is a corner for the children's parents to sit down. A leisure room for the children to read and play board games. A projector gaming world for the children to enjoy themselves. There is a flash card corner in the playground.
EXPLANATION OF HOW THE DESIGNS MEET THE SPECIAL NEEDS OF THE CHILDREN:
The plastics balls are put there as it can avoid the children to fall down and hurt themselves. There is a corner for parents to sit down as the parents can observe their children and their children can feel safe with their parents around. A leisure room is set up for the children to have the chance to do things other children do. Like playing board games and reading books, volunteers will teach them how to play and read. A projector gaming room is built as it a chance for them to experience something that they cannot in the outside world. This can make the child to play more comfortable and stimulate their brain. The Flash card corner can help the children to absorb more of the learning skills. This cards can help them remember more clearly and understand better.
